Business Hours
Banks, post offices, and public offices are generally open from 09:30 to 17:00 on weekdays but are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Most of the shops are open from 10:00 to 22:00 through the entire week.

Climate and Apparel
The month of May in Jeju Island is the beginning of summer. The average temperature is between 20¡ÆC and 23¡ÆC. Light long sleeved shirts or blouses, and short sleeved shirts are sufficient. In the evenings, a light jacket would be advisable. A hat and comfortable shoes are recommended for some tours.

Sports and Leisure Activities
Participants can make special memories through leisure activities in Jeju Island such as golf, horse-back riding, wind surfing and hunting. Golf is the leading sport and leisure activity on the Island. Jeju's golf courses have excellent fairways and scenic surroundings.

Foreign Exchange
Foreign currency and traveler's checks can be converted into Korean won at most banks and other authorized moneychangers. The exchange rate is subject to market fluctuations and is trading at approximately 950 Korean won per US dollar and 800 Korean won per Japanese yen as of August 2007.

Credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and JCB are accepted at major hotels, restaurants and shops.

Passport, Visa and Vaccination
All visitors to the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport and visa.
Visitors with roundtrip tickets from countries who have a special agreement with Korea may be exempt from the visa requirement and can stay in Korea Visa-free for periods up to thirty days or ninety days, depending on the type of agreement between the two countries. Taxes
Value-Added Tax (VAT) is levied on most goods and services at a standard rate of 10% and is included in the retail price. In tourist hotels, this 10% tax applies to rooms,
meals and other services and is included in the bill. Any product with this "Tax Free Shopping" sign will allow you to get a refund on VAT. You must depart the Republic of Korea within 3 months of the purchase.

Tipping
Tipping is not a traditional Korean custom. Generally, a 10% service charge is added to the bill at hotels and tipping is not expected. It is not necessary to tip a taxi driver unless participant is assisted with luggage or provided with extra service.
